What did Inno-Flex require from a private equity investor?
Working in tandem with management and approximately 100 employees, Oxbow acquired Inno-Flex in July of 2016. The family ownership of Inno-Flex after 30+ years of ownership had decided to sell the company. An investment banking sale process was orchestrated by the family. Oxbow was management’s choice for a partner and prevailed in the process. Management chose Oxbow to recapitalize the business with our strong lending resources to help grow the business and for strategic guidance at the board level. Oxbow knew changes would be required to further diversify the customer base and make Inno-Flex more of a sales and marketing organization. Together with management, Oxbow devised a strategy to build on the strong engineering expertise and market the company’s products to more diverse industries.

For more than 30 years, Inno-Flex has produced control interface products, decorative overlays and in-mold labels to some of the leading manufacturers in the world. The facility has produced high-quality semiconductors. In Inno-Flex, we saw the opportunity to build a strong, more diverse manufacturer. We expanded the executive team to supplement the talented employees and excellent engineered products. In addition, we devised a strategy to further build the Inno-Flex brand. Oxbow gained the confidence of the key executives by laying out a strategy for Inno-Flex to be the premier provider of control interface products, decorative overlays and in-mold labels to some of the leading manufacturers in the world.
